Re: Google Home

Another possibility: I've recently started using Node-red and found there are nodes for Alexa and Google Home. Using these nodes along with http to send commands, you can use Alexa or Google Home to control myServer. I have not tried this but there are videos showing it on youtube.

Re: Google Home

I set up Voxcomando and Cinemar several years ago (works the same with myServer) though I admit voice has never caught on in my house. The quality of this depends entirely on the choice of microphone (there are good discussions on the Voxcommando web-site). It can be a bit of a challenge to setup mi...

Re: Driver request: mqtt client

Short of a driver being available, I've been using Node-Red (https://nodered.org/) to glue things like this together. Drop in a block for mqtt then another http block that sends a command to Allonis. Hey thanks fahrer! I've been using node.js for some integrations but haven't looked at node.red unt...

Driver request: mqtt client

I have a number of Arduino based sensors that communicate via mqtt. It would be great if myServer had an mqtt client driver to receive mqtt updates and send data/requests back.

Thanks!

Re: Google Home

If you don't mind a little DIY, you can set up Voxcommando (a front-end for Windows built in speech recognition) and EventGhost to send http requests to run commands in myServer. Not as simple as Alexa/Google because of the hardware, but easier to integrate without developer access (and you can comp...

Dead track removal

Sometimes it's the little things...I recently completed a full update of my home network. During this time, on two nights myServer could not access my FreeNAS machine and the music library was dutifully wiped out by the dead track removal. Five years ago it was noted by Dave that dead track removal ...

Re: Giving Plex a go--clients?

I did try using the straight modern UI and it only cleared out some data that came along with the install (e.g. a list of Dave's Plex players) but I was still getting the errors in the myServer Plex app log. However, this morning the screen dropdowns are magically populating (no changes, no reboots,...

Re: Harmony Hub Driver

I found out how to cure my problem, but not how to prevent it. Something caused the Harmony hub to stop accepting requests from myServer, though it still accepted requested from Harmony phone apps and RF remotes. Once I power cycled the hub, the myServer harmony driver started working again. This ha...

Re: Giving Plex a go--clients?

I do have a user defined and it is getting a token. My Plex server is running in a FreeNAS jail which I changed to use a static IP address. On doing this, I now have two Plex servers showing in the Allonis plex app and, after a restart, both have the same info (e.g. address, identifier, etc.). Altho...

Giving Plex a go--clients?

I'm giving the Plex app a try and am able to browse media (looks to be just one of the media categories defined in Plex) but I am getting the following errors related to the clients drop down (getdata/plex/get/clients) 1/4/2018 9:08:18 PM GetDataSync Error at GetDataSync at line #2959 - The remote s...

Re: Harmony Hub Driver

I did some more testing. Not all of the HarmonyHubDriver commands appear to be working so it appears it may be out of date also (e.g. get_config works, but list_activities does not). I did install the Harmony driver for my Vera and that is working. In case you haven't seen it, Logitech has published...

Re: Harmony Hub Driver

So netstat on my myServer PC shows a connection to the hub on 5222. When I try to go to https://svcs.myharmony.com/CompositeSecurityServices/Security.svc/json/GetUserAuthToken I get a blue bar across the top of the screen with the single word "Service" and a message below "Method not allowed." Using...

Re: Harmony Hub Driver

I seem to now be having a similar problem where I'm getting the following in the Harmony logs (IP is correct, port is set to 'default IP port'. I am able connect with a simple command line utility): 12/21/2017 8:46:24 PM ConnectAsync Connecting to Hub at 192.168.1.102 12/21/2017 8:46:24 PM ConnectAs...

Icons and Backgrounds

I'm looking for ways to improve the appearance of the screens I'm working on. To that end, two open questions: Is there a way to set per-page backgrounds, other than to add a full screen sized image and 'send to back'? Does anyone have a good resource for standard icons- e.g CD, DVD, BluRay, etc.- t...
