I think the issue is the zone number should be "03" and not "3".

should be --> ZONE_VOLUME~03~49 FROM: MELODY

not ZONE_VOLUME~3~49 FROM: MELODY

Tracy, We have a plugin!

It was a combination of both the zero and the latest DLL. First i tried it with just the zero and it still went to full volume. I then downloaded the latest DLL and it works. I modified my mlmath statement to subtract and the volume goes up and down, both from the scene and the keypad. I also changed the math statement to jump 3 instead of one. It is time to go sit at the bar and then head to the theater. In the morning I will finish modifying the ML Scene so all zones work and give it a run thru.

It is not instantaneous but by no fault of the plugin, you can see from the log that the Nuvo is moving a lot of data and it takes a second to transmit back

Now I have a question for all of you (Tracy, Jim, David (and anyone else))

Which scene do you like better, the sliders or the buttons? which one do you want for the show?

About the only thing I have to work on besides alighning all the buttons is to find a way to make the source buttons go dark when power for that zone is off

Need Input!

Jack

jack:

Great to hear. Thanks for all of your help. I think that the push buttons would give you more control that the slider, but that is just me.

Tracy, I am glad I was able to help. I agree with the push buttons because of the delay. A slider does not give as much control

Jim? Your thoughts

David? Your thoughts

Mario? Are you lurking?

I was just doing some testing, we might have to put in an error trap if the button is clicked to fast. This was in the log and the zone became unresponsive. I want to play with increments as well, even 3 seems to be a pretty small step. Look for the *** this is where the error occured

Required turning the zone off and back on. If the increment step is a little larger, maybe a delay could be placed or a string length error trap

I will investigate in the morning

That looks like a MLS issue. Some how it passed that Macro string to the plugin by mistake. Better get Smooth or DaveP to look at that. I may need to decrease the amount of time I am waiting while processing the command. I will compile another version in a minute.

Posted a new version. This version shortens the time between processing commands.

Jack

I will send Dave P an emai lasking him to look at that error. Easily reproduced by the way, have done it 3 times by clicking very rapidly

Ok I just had all 6 zones working, different inputs, different volumes, some turned on from ml some turned on from keypads.

It all looks good...

Now, purely cosmetic but, on the source buttons. How can i make the selected source button go dark when the power is off since we are using the off state to show the source is selected. ?

ok tracy,
Everything works with the latest loads except for the balance and I think that it is just a cosmetic issue. When you try to put the balance to center it sends the proper command and the concerto reacts properl;y, however the display pops back to the previous setting in this case 1 click to the right.
Sending command for ZONE_BALANCE_RIGHT - *Z01BALR1
Processing Zone - 1 => Processing Command - #Z01BASS+00,TREB+00,BALR+1,G0,MAXVOL-30,INIVOL-55
Processing Variables for Zone - 1
Sending command for ZONE_BALANCE_CENTER - *Z01BALC
Processing Zone - 1 => Processing Command - #Z01BASS+00,TREB+00,BALC,G0,MAXVOL-30,INIVOL-55
Processing Variables for Zone - 1

otherwise everything looks great!
Good Job
Looking forward to seeing the MLS file Jack.
BTW I think the butons will be fine, I just think that cosmeticly it looks spiffy and techy with the faders, but if they cause delays then I would much prefer the buttons.

Ok here you go...

I am sure there will be additional tweaks.
#1 will be to find a way to grey-out the source buttons on zones that are off, easier said than done. In order for the source buttons to toggle I had to use the off state as an on indication. I will see what I can do

#2 will be to take the bar graph to zero on zone off power, but here i have mixed feelings... it depends on how you have the keypads configured for volume restore. If you have it set to reset to minimal volume on power on, fine when you turn on the zone the volume resets to 21 on the bar graph. If you have it set to last set volume, you could be in for a surprise. I have some keypads set for last volume and some set for reset to minimal, so maybe the bar graph should be left as is.

#3 Tone Controls. On the Essentia you can set bass and treble via the keypad, I have mine all set for each of the rooms and have never had a need to adjust them. Possible idea (if I am clever enough to figure it out) would be to use the new slide-out menu of ML and overlays (something I haven't done before, but this beta testing taught me a lot), the slide-out when then contain the tone controls for that zone

#4 the buttons on the top are particular to my setup, they take you to the XM Radio scene, Music Lobby scene and the "whole House Audio" button takes you to my main scene, so you might want to take those off if you decide to use this scene as a demo (which by the way you are more than welcome to use it or any part)

Thanks Jack,
I look forward the downloading and playing with it. The graphic is looking good. I will be using it as demo here at the office with the Concerto and modifying it for use with the Simplese for the EHX show in Long Beach week after next.
