Hue driver issue

Wed May 11, 2016 1:24 pm

I just starting using Hue lighting and am having trouble with the existing driver. It manages to find the hub but is failing to populate the device (currently two bulbs). Here is the log:

Code: Select all

5/11/2016 12:23:19 AM Discover Begin Discovery 5/11/2016 12:23:25 AM GetDevices Error at GetDevices at line #1357 - Value cannot be null. Parameter name: value 5/11/2016 12:23:32 AM Discover End Discovery 5/11/2016 12:23:32 AM GetDevices Error at GetDevices at line #1357 - Value cannot be null. Parameter name: value 5/11/2016 12:23:32 AM PopulateDevices Error at PopulateDevices at line #349 - Value cannot be null. 5/11/2016 12:23:40 AM GetDevices Error at GetDevices at line #1357 - Value cannot be null. Parameter name: value
Thanks!

1357 is where the driver is trying to parse the groups that have been defined. Have you defined any groups using the Hue App? The driver expects defined groups. I might have to make looking for them optional.

Since posting the original question I've been playing some more with how I had rooms setup in the Hue Gen 2 app (currently only one room with two lights in it). Checking MLserver now, I see that the hue driver has picked up the room (labeled as a 'group' with hue address 'G1') in addition to the already existing hub. However, there are no lights listed in the family manager (only the hub) and the following error is now being logged each time the driver polls for lights:

5/17/2016 11:38:19 PM GetDevices Error at GetDevices at line #1443 - Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Is there any plan to update the ML hue driver with Gen 2 support?
Thanks!
Gerry

I need to check the Phillips site to see if they've changed their API for Gen2.

Dave,

Did you find anything on this? Does the MLServer plugin only work with the old Hue app/api?

Have not looked into this yet. I'll get my Hue back on the network to see what it does here.

I updated my Hue hub to the latest api version today. Then I updated the driver to support the new api. Everything is back working here. Hopefully, for you too.
