Krump - I have tried so many that have almost worked that its a crap shoot. Lately, my best success has been with HikVision. This is the one I have that works with the Generic Driver. You just need to figure out and enter all of the needed commands in the driver. I will warn you that the IR rather sucks. I had to supplement the IR with a secondary IR light at the rear of the house to see at night.

DaveB, I'm testing a Hikvision camera right now. For the mjpeg video stream I'm using the URL provided in Hikvision's API docs but I'm getting stuck on the camera requiring a username and password in the URL something like:

http://<username>:<password>@<IP address>/streaming/channels/102/httppreview

and it doesn't seem to work in the web apps although it works if I type this url into a browser.

I was wondering what you did to get it to work.

Thanks...

I just bought the COSCO Lorex - 6 x 4k cams with NVR.

Quality is good. But, does anyone have any insights how to programmatically retrieve or stream the camera feed from the NVR to the new modern interface?

I'll play around but asking if someone has already figured this out.

Thanks!

Synergy,

We use Hikvision on many of our commercial installs (some of our residential too), but I have been rather frustrated with them over the password requirement as well. Is it a new camera? If so you should have had to register it and during the process would have had to create a password. If not, someone else created a password when it was registered.
