Using lookups to improve "Now Playing" information

Sun Jul 18, 2004 6:11 pm

I think it's great that XM broadcasts enough information to see the first sixteen characters (or whatever it is) of the current tracks, BUT it would be real nice if we (Cinemar?) could find a way to either look up the information (is it on XM's site? I couldn't find it) or and/or look up the information against something else to make it more complete and accurate. I suspect that this might improve the "album art" hits and such as well. Of course, I don't really have any source in mind for finding or guessing at more accurate information... :? :D

So this works now... but it's either / or and I find that the internet method isn't as fast or consistently reliable as the in-line data (in XMPCR).

It's irritating to have to move back to PCR mode when the internet data stops working.

How 'bout using XMPCR if it's different than internet, then internet when it matches?
