Descriptions for Macro Commands

Fri Feb 22, 2008 12:17 am

It would be nice to be able to add descriptions or be able to document macro commands. While most are self explanatory, there are some that get complicated and it would be nice to be able to write a few notes with the macro itself. I see a decription field in the database for the macro, but it doesn't appear there is a way to utilize it.

Watch for the descriptions to magically appear in an upcoming release of MLServer.

I'm not as organized as I should be and have many possibly unused macros and server commands. A "last executed" field would be helpful to me.

What is the syntax for descriptions in macros?

Not really sure what you mean by descriptions? The basic Macro syntax is

Macro| command1 ! command2 ! commandn

Where Command1, etc. is any valid MLServer or WebCmd. Each command is separated by inserting a ! as the delimiter.

Sorry then I misunderstood.

I thought there was a way to embed comments within a macro for reference.

Ah, there is no support for comments embedded in macro statements.
