Embed sub-variables in server rule ?

Fri Apr 27, 2007 1:31 pm

Yow,

I have a variable like this: {{mlmediacenter_mulclient_fire01_selzone}}

fire01 is the name of a computer in the network.

I would like to make a rule like this:

Whenever mlmediacenter_mulclient_{{clientname}}_selzone equlas....

So it fills automaticly in the computer name when it execute the server rule.

But this doesn't work this way it seems. MLS doesn't want to fill it in. My complete rule works whenever i change the clientname with his exact name.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Eric

The rules are not initiated by a clientname so you can't do what you are attempting. You can create multiple rules for each client though.

Can you embed a sub-variable in a rule though? For example, I want to do the following:

Whenever ir_current_{{currentdayofweek}} equals 1
And currenthourmilitary equals {{ir_current_start_time}}
Then .....

I could create separate rules for each day of the week but I would prefer something like this.
