Can't find Apple TV's

Hi Nillaz, I totally agree.
during the design / engineering / development / testing of Allonis "stuff" the struggle is always capability vs ease of setup. It is a daily issue. We tend to lean towards capability because we are the ones that configure most all of our commercial systems that drives most of the features. And, as you have personally seen, the feature set is huge. There are always initiatives ongoing to make the overall system setup easier. It's just very difficult to make the difficult easy without compromising capability.

The MOST IMPORTANT is follow the documentation step for step. If the docs are not clear (like we just found AppleTV docs aren't), then we fix them for all. Most all questions we have seen are answered in the documentation. And it's apparent from questions asked, who follows them and who doesn't.

Ultimately the product will continue to evolve to where things are "so simple" no docs are needed. But that isn't today.  You will see hints of the evolution direction in the DSP444 docs.  This product has SO MANY capabilities it is very important to make things simple so it's configurable.  It allows a home system to be what an audio engineer would install in an entertainment complex in a medium sized home.  More work to do!

I have had 1 Apple TV work with the driver, and 2 cable boxes work via IR with the Generic IR driver and the Cable Box driver. I have 1 Apple TV that will not work either by IP or IR. However, I did get that particular Apple TV to work via Home Assistant, so I used scripts called from Home Assistant to get the remote working. I appreciate that myServer 6 is flexible and gives me multiple ways of completing the task.

The software is quite complicated, but once I understood how things worked and how the server and designer worked together, it made things easier and more enjoyable. You do have a lot of documentation and I appreciate that, although I did have some trouble finding the document I needed (but the How To buttons, etc made it easier.) I did always read the documents first and follow them as closely as possible, but still had trouble and things not working. The good news is I eventually got things working as I wanted.

Since both HomeAssistant and myServer uses the same 3rd party integration to AppleTV - they should both work. Something in myServer happened why the second isn't working. If you want it to be under myServer control, follow my thoughts in that thread and let us know how that goes.

Complicated is certainly a relative word....many (most) automation systems can't do anything near what myServer can do. So, they would be beyond complicated (impossible). HomeAssistant to do anything near the customization of myServer, you need to be a software developer and learn YAML programming language. They continue to evolve and make that simpler, but there are no examples I have seen where even the craftiest have done in HomeAssistant that our moderate experienced users haven't already done in myServer.

And to your point, you can also do some stuff in HomeAssistant and leverage that in myServer. Same thing with Homeseer and Harmony Hub. Our power users have done all.

Glad to hear you are getting things working and getting the hang of it!!! Now it gets fun!
