JVC Projector Driver password required on NZ7

I know the Allonis team is working hard on drivers for all of the equipment that everyone has but I wanted to point out that I don't think the JVC driver works with the newer NZ lineup(at least in the United States). The IP control requires a password and unless it isn't obvious I didn't see a way to add that to the driver. So all of my attempts to connect were rejected. I can use IR for now(or the harmony hub) but it would be nice if the driver supported the password field.

+1 didn't see how to configure this when trying to setup my NZ8 as well.

Stumbled across this article and looks like only much older series as supported: allonis.com/support/documentation?view=category&id=135

What we have observed is that the original assumption was a Projector was like a TV and that one would be just powering it on / off for a given Room. Then we got thinking that hmm, what if the user wants to manually control things like what lens or aspect ratio...so, we will be building a new projector.html webpage that has some of those controls. Certainly it's up to the hardware and then the driver on what features are supported. But the JVC users won't have a webpage today. Will be done soon with a future smartremote template change.

You could build your own custom webpage today. That's what user Graydon did for his JVC in his custom theater. See the commands in the driver Command Builder of what's available.

HI Guys;

Been on vacation last week so I am just now finally catching up here.

The Daves built a driver for my old JVC projector (RS45u) a while back. It was non-trivial because the projector has a 3-step handshake that is required to send any commands. It works now and I've been using it for a few months. I suspect it is not suited to the newer JVC projectors however.

Here is my custom screen to control the proj and lights in my theatre room.

I access this webpage on my phone. When I hit the "Startup" button, it turns on room lights, step courtesy light, equipment rack power, subwoofer amp power, projector and turns off the fan and dehumidifier. Once running, I can change the aspect ratio of the projector since even wide screen movies usually have the setup screen in 16:9. I can also change lighting in the room to three different levels. I can articulate the screen with the button at the top middle.
When finished, I can "shutdown" which reverses all of the Startup activities. BTW, the projector driver has two way communication so when the projector broadcasts that it is cooling, the lettering changes to blue and says "Projector Cooling" and when the cooling cycle is finished, it changes to "JVC Projector RS45" and the button icon turns back to green. I wish it had a status of "Warming up" because there is no indication that it is obeying the start command other than the led turning green on the projector itself.

You could: Add a macro that gets invoked when you hit the Power button to starts a clock (via a command) that writes to a variable value which is shown on a label on your UI.
