Allonis's new myIR1 is an inexpensive ESP32 based computer that has a built in Infrared transmit LED.
How it is connected:
myServer 6 ethernet port < > Ethernet hub < > Wifi Access Point > myIR1 > TV eyeball.
The myIR1 is used either as a "blaster" (emits IR that multiple devices can "see") or as a IR transmitter hooded so only one IR device can "see" it's output (like one per cable box).
Installation:
Connect the myIR1 power connector to a USB-C cable. Plug the other end into any USB power supply.
Press the button on the myIR1 for 5 seconds to restart it in "Access Point Mode"
Using your phone or laptop, find the AtomicIR access point. Connect to it. There is no password.
Once connected, in a browser on your phone / laptop - go to http://192.168.200.200
Fill out YOUR Wifi access point credentials.
You can choose to use a DHCP IP assigned address....if you do, ensure that you reserve this IP on your router so it never changes. You can also static set an IP on the configuration webpage.
Ensure that the IP address is on the same network subnet that myServer is on.
Configure the myIR1 in the Generic IR driver.
