Insteon Driver Installation

Welcome to Insteon Driver Installation

The Insteon Lighting Driver is Allonis's application that provides a 2 way real time integration with an Insteon lighting controller within your myServer user interface.  It is not reliant on an Internet cloud service.  myServer's Insteon driver increases security, decreases response time and increases reliability compared to cloud approaches.

System Requirements

    • myServer5
    • Lighing Family App
    • Working Insteon controlled lighting system
    • Insteon PLM physically connected to myServer (via USB or Serial cable)

  1. Install the latest version of myServer from myInstaller
  2. Install the latest version of the Insteon driver and the Lighting Family
  3. Install the Insteon lighting switches
  4. Pair the switches with the Insteon PLM using the Houselinc software
  5. Export the configuration using the Houslinc software of your defined, paired lighting devices.
  6. If you are using a USB PLM, install the PLM driver software.  Note the com port it is installed to.
  7. Connect the PLM to the serial port or USB port of myServer PC
  8. Update the Insteon Driver with your Insteon PLM's com port.  Ensure no other applications are communicating to the PLM at the same time as myServer.
  9. Restart myServer
  10. In the Lighting Family, select Insteon from the import sources and browse to your completed Houselinc programming file that the PLM controller was loaded with.
  11. You should see all of your Insteon lighting loads having been created in the Lighting Family as well as an entry for the PLM Controller and it's Insteon address (required).
  12. If you don't have a Houselinc file, you can manually click a paired Insteon switch and observe the Insteon Driver's event log.  You should see an "Undefined" switch and it's address (format: "xx.yy.zz").  Manually enter this address as a new device in the Lighting Family Manager.  You should only have to configure the switch that is turning the load on and off and not Slave switches.
  13. Manually add the Insteon PLM's address as a Controller type in the Lighting Family Manager.

1) Open the Lighting web page on your server
2) You should see your Lighting Family defined Areas. Click one and you should see your Insteon defined lighting loads. Click a control. Enjoy!
