how does this work?

RoyN post=2231 userid=726Apologies as I should have really made this clear... its a Samsung TV from 1-2 yrs ago, it does support discrete power inputs, and using the Tizen Driver test functionality I can turn it off / on (without toggling) and it does show when it is ON or OFF on the driver... I think the communication part is ok... maybe there is some issue between the new way and the Tizen driver? I wonder if anyone with a Samsung TV tried it out?

I have a similar tizen TV model because of the input switching issue I decided to use IR and tizen driver for verification took a break from configuring remote but this is what I planned to use.
BTW uv_ is my variables i set for input, power, ect

Thanks for sharing... I'd have prefered to keep it all with IP control where possible... I'm going to need to get an IR emitter (ip2ir or similar) for each TV... not going to be elegant imo when the driver testing page functions as it should... powers on, off, shows correct state...

What is the input switching problem you had? sorry I dont recall, maybe i missed it?

I'll do this later this week... I had a quick look and all I could find was Power command, I'll look again when i have some more time

Did it now, lol... curiosity got the best of me... It looks like the Tizen driver is at fault... Sending a Power ON or Power Off is in fact toggling... I'm pretty sure this didnt happen before, but I may be wrong... The driver page does show the correct feedback (tick/cross if the tv is on/off)... I guess we'll need to wait for David to chime in on this?

Teste on 2 different TVs only one of them is having this odd behavior... they are both 2-3 yrs old, different series.

The Tizen driver does indeed send a KEY_POWER command. Which is a Toggle to the TV.

There are definitions for KEY_POWERON and KEY_POWEROFF but I have never see any Tizen TV respond to them. 

Do a test from the command builder. Send an AV|<id>~Remote~POWEROFF  or a AV|<id>~Remote~POWERON

The driver is currently sending the equivalent of AV|<id>~Remote~POWER

Does your TV respond to them?
