Question about updating myDesigner

I've never been able to use the remote emulator in myDesigner. When I click launch it opens the remote window and I can see my project. I can interact with the virtual remote screen but the hard button overlay has always been blank and unresponsive. I generally test new ideas on my remotes themselves so this has never been a huge deal to me.

After another member posted a different question about the remote launcher I decided it was finally time to investigate why this is and I've figured it out. My project was missing the overlay-remotebuttons-preview.html file. I manually moved it from the sample template to my smartremote project and voila! Instant success!

While looking through the rest of the files in the sample template I noticed that my project is missing a number of other recent additions such as irusb.html, etc.

So apparently when I update myDesigner to a newer version and then update/optimize my smartremote project these new files don't get added to my project folder. Is this supposed to be the case? Should I manually be moving files from the sample folder to my project folder each time there is a myDesigner update? I can do that if necessary of course, but this seems pretty tedious since updates come without patch notes. What is the suggested method to ensure that my project has all of the latest updates?

myDesigner does not have those .html files. The Templates do.
So if you are missing needed files, download the latest "smartremote-sample" template. Backup your old template. Copy any custom webpages you modded / created into the smartremote-sample directory. Then, rename it "smartremote" if that matches your settings on the SmartRemote device (project name).

Updating myDesigner should be done whenever there is an update. Simply open myDesigner, click the update button and allow it to download. Then, confirm you want to update.

Updating templates is done by clicking on the folder name in myDesigner, and clicking the Project Update button on the toolbar. This updates javascript / .css files (not html files). This doesn't need to be done if you just updated the template from the Updater (Allonis maintains those templates with latest javascript / .css).
