Sprinkler Relay Questions

Couple questions.

Looks like this guy hooks up with a wired LAN connection, correct?

I'm going to need more than one of these  as I'll probably be running 10 zones or so.   Do I somehow daisy chain them or do I run 2 LAN cables?   Would the Sprinkler App integrate seamlessly with such a setup?

Looks like Sainsmart has discontinued their IP controlled relays however this looks exactly like the generic ones that you can find on Amazon or Alibaba.  They probably all use the same protocol.  You can't daisy chain them

We have been thru a lot of relays. We sell the ones that we see work best. I wouldn't guess as protocols are not consistent. There needs to be a driver specific to the relay you want to use. The Irrigation app runs macros. The relays to trigger is managed by the relay driver.

I thought this was the SainSmart IP relay section, no?      So the SainSmarts are connected via a Lan cable correct?    And you can't daisy chain them so I'll need a separate Lan cable if I use two units?    And the App can map to the relays in such a way when it's time to run, say,  zone 9 it would know SainSmart unit 2, relay #4 of that unit is the one to be activated?   This is way different that a Rain8, just trying to picture how it would work.

Yes, IP relays (like most from SainSmart) require an ethernet cable to a network switch, OR a Wifi connection (ethernet is recommended for reliability). Each relay board gets an IP address. Each relay on the board is individually controllable.

Ah, thanks, good info. Irrigation will be a spring project for me soon. Have to get lighting and HVAC going first!
