Remote occasionally locking up

This doesn't happen all of the time, but every once in a while when I power down a room at the end of the day the remote in use will freak out. Rather than going back to the Index scene as designed the remote will freeze up with a black screen that says FASTBOOT in the bottom left hand corner.

A hard reset resolves this but does anyone know what could be causing this in the first place? If I don't catch this when it happens the screen will stay lit up and will not charge in the dock, leading to a completely drained remote when I take it off of the cradle the next day.

I haven't seen that issue.

Any chance you've discovered the root cause or come up with a solution beyond a reboot?

Nope...just hold the button and pray. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason around when it happens.

It's all good. I'm sure I'll catch something in the logs eventually.
