HiSense TVs

Documentation here: allonis.com/support/documentation?view=category&id=217 , is completely wrong since no such driver exists. How does one add a HiSense TV?

I believe that the newer Hisense TVs are Android (or Google TV) based. I wonder if the Android TV driver would work for you.

The instructions say "Go to the Drivers section and select Configure for the LGTV driver." This driver does exist. Try it.

OK, that at least got the device added, although I had to search for the relevant network port. It doesn't explain why the instruction page says:

The myServer 6 driver connects to the HiSense TV using MQTT communications.Driver Installation:Download the HiSense driver from the myServer 6 Software Updater.  The driver will self install.

The bolded part is clearly wrong.

Run the Pair command for the TV in the Driver (click on the TV on the bottom left of the Driver configuration) to control to requests an authentication token from the TV.  You should see a popup message on the TV.  Accept the connection using the HiSense provided handheld remote control.  You should only need to Pair once, unless the tokens are removed from the TV using the TV setup menu.  The Auth token should show up in the TV configuration Row (top right).

The above makes no sense though since there isn't a 'TV on the bottom left of the Driver configuration'.

The basic power on/off doesn't even work!
 

We believe HiSense uses Roku operating system. HiSense doc was updated.

According to the interweb, Hisense uses an proprietary OS called VIDAA, which is Linux based, (similar to the Roku OS, also Linux based). However, on some models Android or Roku are used instead (or the modified Android "Google TV"). It depends on the model and the region sold.

I was recently looking at the Hisense Canvas TV in a store, and noticed it said it had Android "Google TV" on the box.

I am of the opinion that we should find out what model of Hisense the OP has, before making suggestions on what driver to use.
