Mydesigner - Tell me where to start

I keep thinking I'm going to understand how to setup my SmartRemote but I can't get anything to work. I can't even follow the YT videos. I am on the Working With Scenes And Overlays videos and can't do what they are doing. For one the they never say which template the are using (there are 3 moonlights). I think I have the right one. I am trying to follow the video and can't add any image (I can't even find the image they are using) like they do at apx 3:08 in the video.

I don't understand anything with any of these products.

You aren't ready to customize stuff using myDesigner.  Get the basic out of the box functions working first.  You might never need myDesigner.
Follow the step by step documentation! critical to success.

David, I understand your frustration with me but I'm just trying to follow along. The videos don't say anything about being advanced. I thought using MD was a part of using the remote.

There are the Moonlight Tablet (like for an iPad), the Moonlight SmartPhone (like for a Samsung phone), and the Moonlight SmartRemote (for the SmartRemote certainly) user interface templates available for download. These are what you should start with and get things to work.

Once you use the remote control / other UIs, and see how they work in use, then you can OPTIONALLY tweek them in myDesigner as an "Advanced" project. This can consume lots of time and needs to be a labor of love. But it's hugely powerful once you get the hang of it. Backup and edit the included templates to start.
