Apps on Smartremote screen for ShieldTV modifiable? was created by Nillaz
I really like the integration of app shortcuts and their corresponding icons when using the ShieldTV, but is it possible to modify this template? I'd like to adjust their order so the one's I use most frequently appear at the top of the list. Unfortunately I'm not clear on how to do this or even what methodology is used to decide how they are organized in the first place. For example, Twitch is placed much higher on the list than CuriosityStream or Netflix so it doesn't appear to be alphabetical.
I'd also like to add some shortcuts that didn't pre-populate. VUDU and SmartTube come to mind. Lastly, I'd like to remove a few that I either don't use frequently or don't make sense to have available on the screen. Nothing good is going to happen if other people in my house have easy access to non streaming apps directly from the remote screen lol

Not sure about Android, but for Roku the build-in scene is a (going off memory here) Infinite Scroll List that's set to call an API which retrieves the list of all apps/channels on the Roku it's associated with, and just displays whatever it gets. On the Roku this list appears to come back alphabetical from the Roku so I don't think there's any way to change it.
I think what I'm going to do, when I get closer to deploying my SmartRemotes "for real" is build another scene, or another page on the Roku scene and I'll just manually create buttons for my most used apps statically in the scene. Of course this would also work around the issue that at least one of my Rokus likes to not return the icons so I end up with a page/list of blank buttons on the SmartRemote.

For AndroidTV it's also an infinite list. I can maybe kind of understand why SmartTube doesn't show up here since it has to be sideloaded but VUDU is an official app and it's absence seems weird. It's also great that PLEX is the first item on my screen...not so much with Netflix, CuriosityStream, or AppleTV+ being so far down the list that you have to scroll the page.
The screen has enough room for 8 icons without scrolling. It would be fabulous if I could populate these with my most frequently used apps.

You could resize the infinite scroll list to take up the lower half of the screen, and manually define buttons for your favorite apps on the top. I think beyond something like that Allonis would have to provide some way on the myServer side to define some apps/channels to be prioritized.
I'm probably just going to go the manual way personally. There's only a couple apps I use regularly and I want some other stuff on my main scene screen anyway.

The list is automatically generated by making a query to the Shield. There's is currently no blacklist option. I'll think about how that could be added. Right now you'd have to delete the scroller object on the ShieldTV page and replace it with a series of buttons that have your favorite apps. The command on each of the buttons would be
AV|{{active_shieldtv_{{clientname}}}}~Launch~<<APP NAME>>
Appropriate app images are in the main /images/tvapps folder.

I guess the same applies to the Amazon FireTV stick I've got - it lists a short selection of apps but by no means all. A custom scene seems the way to go.
