That is the function of the AndroidTV driver....Keeps the smartphone UI working, even if shut off.  So, you can disable the AndroidTV driver to the SmartRemote, restart and it should stop that behaviour.  That's a feature

You can also run av|XYX~monitor~off command.  Where XYX is the SmartRemote device ID.
