Movies and Music

Let me preface my questions by saying that I understand that some things are still in-progress and will be coming soon.  I'm trying to understand what can possibly be done now or at least planned out for when additional applets, drivers, etc. are available.  Conceptually, I know what's possible, as I had a similar setup running with myServer5 in my previous house.  

I have the basic myServer and SmartRemote configurations in place and things are working as expected from what I can tell.  For my initial setup, I'd like to accomplish a couple of things.

• Music: I'd like to be able to use Pandora or Amazon Music to stream music to an HTD Lync system.  I also have some music stored locally on my NAS that I'd like to setup playlists for and send to the same system.  I'm doing most of this now with the HTD mobile app via an Amazon Echo Dot, which is configured to work with the Lync system.
• Movies: I have a number of movies stored locally on my NAS that I would like to be able to watch on various TVs in the house.  I'm not sure if additional hardware is needed for this if the TVs are Android capable.  At some point, I would also like to integrate Netflix and Amazon Prime into the mix.

In the myServer5 days, there were applets that helped manage these via the UI.  How should I approach setting this up with myServer6 and the SmartRemote?

We will be using Jellyfin as the back end for movies and local stored music. so, get that up and running now.

It's possible you can link in your myServer 5 webpages to myServer 6. That won't be optimized for SmartRemote certainly. That's a kludge workaround. We don't have the time to support this today so you will have to figure this out on your own while we work on getting everyone's v6 system up to date and then write common drivers, and THEN media management stuff (the fun stuff).

Thought I had seen that Plex would be supported, which I am currently using. Just want to check that Plex will not be an option, and I will need to switch to Jellyfin to have the movie streaming capability. I don't want to go to this effort if Plex later becomes supported.

The plan is to support Plex as well, but likely after Jellyfin.  but most of the work is to get the first one working.

I don't understand what the integration is with myServer. If you have a standard backend system like Plex or Jellyfin, and a frontend system like Kodi to play streams or remote files, and the SmartRemote controls Kodi (via myServer), what integration do you need with the backend?

At a minimum, a user interface.  To replace Kodi UI (but potentially controlling Kodi).  Ability to completely customize the UI experience.
And automation rules.  much more.  This is where we started this whole thang.
