A button on a simulated SmartRemote turning my kitchen light on and off via Home Assistant (behind the myDesigner window). And the under cupboard LED is kept in sync by a Home Assistant automation.

Yes, both systems process requests quite readily. You will also notice there has been some significant updates to the HAGateway driver. They are all discussed in the updated documentation for the driver.
It's now possible to easily convert HomeAssistant devices to myServer's consistent "family" structure that allows for much easier setup of user interfaces, automation rules, event processing etc.
