Thanks Nillaz. The remote is named Chris. That makes sense and a simple experiment proves it. A test changing one of my F keys from WakeupMyRemote|Chris to WakeupMyRemote|{{clientname}} and periodically pressing it keeps the remote and backlighting active. Thanks again.
I need to learn more about clientname as I work up this project. So clientname is the device you are operating on? Could I use that for, say, a wall mounted touchscreen? I didn't use it in my V5 projects but I think it would facilitate expansion as I build out the V6 system

I don't see why you couldn't use {{clientname}} with a touchscreen if you saw a use for it. It's just going to use whatever "smartremote-fx-XXXX" myServer assigns to that screen in whatever command you implement it.
