How do I set this up? was created by zshaiken
I'm pretty lost on how to control the IRUSB. I have the IR USB, I followed the instructions on VideoStorm's website to set up the device. I installed the VideoStorm driver in myServer. I went to driver config -> driver commands and clicked AddDevice. I entered the IP of my shield and added it. I clicked "Select Device" in driver commands and chose the ShieldIR I just set up. I went to SendIR- Nothing happens. Launch- Nothing happens. On my smartremote I see the IRUSB App. I clicked that, tried to send a remote command- nothing happens.
How do I set this up and control my shield with it? Didn't find any documentation, and the forum threads are pretty vague on how to actually set this up.
I have seen this thread and I think I've followed all of the instructions. allonis.com/forum/videostorm-irusb/244-videostorm-irusb?start=0
In IRUSB, I have Enable GC Protocol checked. In the Driver command testing window, none of the Send IR commands work because I can't choose any of my IR ports (smartremote is the one I want to test with).
E1: Looking at logging, when I run SelectDevice, I get this:
02/05/2024 00:48:43.48 · ERROR · IRUSB.doCommand - Error: No valid controller found for av|55~SelectDevice
E2: Now I don't even see my device anymore when clicking SelectDevice, so I guess I will uninstall and reinstall the driver for the 3rd time tonight.

AndroidTV integration already setup and in home assistant
Is home assistant required to use this device?

I just read the support doc, and I was confused by this prerequisite:allonis.com/support/documentation?view=category&id=429
Please add one forum post to the question.

Not fully understanding your question.
HomeAssistant is not needed at all.
But, if you have a HomeAssistant system already, myServer can integrate to it for use with SmartRemote, myServer's more advanced user interface tools, additional drivers, etc.
There is a myServer IRUSB driver within native myServer so no need for HomeAssistant.

Ah, got it. That would be confusing. Doc was updated to say "myServer" is the prerequisite. No need for HomeAssistant for this feature.
