Remote backlighting not working?

It looks like a lot of people in that thread bricked their remotes.  Have the "kinks" since been worked out?

also, there is a step that says "Run this command." with a photo that is missing.  I'm assuming the command is in that missing photo?

No one "bricked" their remotes.
The issue was the instructions could have been clearer.
The software was modded to make it "perfectly clear".
Just follow the current documentation and you will be fine
