Macros was created by CurlyOscar
I'm sure I must have missed it in the documentation but I have wrestled with this now for 2 days. I have created a new IR Model in System IR Database with Brand Name set to Sky and Model set to Q (it's a satellite tv provider in the UK) and tested it in IR Command Testing. I've then gone to Macros and created a new Macro with the name activate-source.sky q and from there I don't know where to go. I have played around with the syntax of the macro but nothing happens and the server commands box is empty.
Some of the macros you guys are producing blow my mind. Where would be a good place to start learning how to put a decent Macro together?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me

This is the only place I've found info on macro commands so far:

I was/am struggling with this as well. David linked the below weather app document. I followed it last night to setup a basic activate source macro for my lighting.

Actually, in this instance you do not need to create any macros for the Sky Box. Rather you will install the CableTV driver. Add a new CableTV device. You set the devices IR Device and IR model and put the device into a room. When you save the server will automatically create the activation macro for you. I have new documentation for the CableTV driver going up on the website tomorrow that will document that entire process. If you can wait from the documentation to go up it will be a good test.
However, that does not eliminate the need for a good macros primer.

Thanks Dave. Looking forward to it. I notice that there is a TVIR driver as well. I have a Panasonic TV in exactly the same situation as the Sky box. Would the TVIR sort that out for me?

Is there something similar for a IR controlled Blu-Ray player? Or do I need to write my own macro for it?Actually, in this instance you do not need to create any macros for the Sky Box.
