Most of this is beyond me. I guess I bought off more than I could chew, so thanks for the help and understanding.

I just remoted into your system and I made changes to your Harmony Activity and Device pages. There were 10 repeats programed into the long presses on the volume up and down and channel up and down buttons. I removed those repeats because the buttons will automatically repeat now by default. Let me know if this solves your issue. I also have logging turned on and I can remote in and check again if the issue persists.

For anyone else that might have strange repeat issue edit your harmony_device and harmony_activity pages in the Designer. Look at what is programmed into long press on the Volume and Channel buttons. If there are any commands with the word Loop in them delete the command and save the page. These are remnants of early versions of those pages.

Thank you. When the smartrepote template is updated do I need to do anything to preserve the changes you made?

The next SmartRemote-sample should have that fixed. But you should always back up your templates before an update.

Am am sorry but all of this is beyond me.
I don't have the knowledge base to operate this. The unit has so much potential, but I can't even use it to watch TV.

I don't understand how to create the backup..even after scoring the forum.I get creating a backup folder but don't know how.
I don't understand the update process when new SmartRemote templates are created.
it feels like I will have to go through a process with every update.
I just wanted a remote, not a hobby.

Hi Jim, Once the remote is setup for your system, then it is "just a remote" (if that's how you want it setup).
I see you added the Assistance Addon to your Kickstarter.  Why don't you provide us an email with what devices you want controlled, and any other particulars and provide your TeamViewer ID and we will remote in and help you set it all up?

Backing up the templates is just creating a wwwroot/backups directory and moving your "smartremote" folder to that (that's the backup).  Then, downloading the latest smartremote-sample from the Software Updater, and renaming it "smartremote"  Then you have the latest and greatest in play from Allonis.  If you had a custom webpage that you made, then you can copy that mypage.html from backups to your smartremote project folder.  This is all much easier to do if you have an HDMI monitor and usb keyboard / mouse connected to myServer.  You can also do this from a networked pc by entering \\myServerIPAddress\myServer\wwwroot\ into File Explorer.
